To create a vibrant platform to provide support for entrepreneurs working in sectors that can create massive impact in the communities. Sector focus are Agriculture, Energy, Fintech, Health and Education – the aim is to accelerate social innovations within the space to solve the pressing issues in Nigeria and beyond.
CALL FOR APPLICATIONS
The call will run for six weeks to encourage participations across the country; the web portal will provide the platform for all submissions and subsequent evaluations. Experts trained by Enterprise Lab and other relevant partners will deploy the marking scheme to evaluate the concepts and rank them accordingly.
The top 25 ideas will participate in a 3 days boot camp to redefine their offering, tweak their model where possible and refine their business model canvas. The top 10 ideas will be admitted in the 10 weeks programme.
The investment pitch is in the final week of the 10 weeklong programmes, with the outcome of selecting the top 5 ideas that will receive funding.

The Greenovate Challenge is 10-weeks acceleration programme focused on disruptive and innovative ideas in agriculture. It is designed for innovators and disruptors creating scalable ideas, business models, disruptive technologies and social innovations to promote food security in Nigeria.
This is to train entrepreneurs using the methodology of the human centered design, a creative approach for solving problems and creating solutions that meet the market requirement through the lens of the end users. Human-centered design (HCD) is a design and management framework that develops solutions to problems by involving the human perspective in all steps of the problem-solving process. Human involvement typically takes place in observing the problem within context, brainstorming, conceptualizing, developing, and implementing the solution.
It is a creative approach to interactive systems development that aims to make systems usable and useful by focusing on the users, designing around their needs and requirements at all stages, and by applying human factors/ergonomics, usability knowledge, and techniques.
Elab will adopt the IDEO’s Design Toolkit and facilitators’ teaching methodology. IDEO’s design toolkits, is all about building a deep empathy with the people entrepreneurs are designing for; generating tons of ideas; building a bunch of prototypes; sharing what was designed with the people before eventually putting your innovative new solution out in the world. The HCD consists of three phases.

ORIENTATION AND CURRICULUM
The participants will be exposed to fundamentals of Entrepreneurship, Design Thinking, Agricultural social innovations and Business Canvas. The goal is to provide the needed information, structure and system to create viable agriculture ventures
PATIENT AND CHEAP FINANCING
Partners will provide the Seed Fund for successful participants in partnership with identified reputable organizations and government agencies. In addition, the winners will also have access to other funding opportunities.
DELIVERY AND FACILITATORS
Facilitators are established entrepreneurs, researchers and successful consultants. The delivery methodology will be via presentations, group discussions and homework.
NETWORK AND MENTORING
Participants will gain valuable experience through interactions with mentors, entrepreneurs’ network, market linkages and peer-to-peer learning.
THE 10-WEEKS ACCELERATION PROGRAMME
The acceleration programme is designed to assists entrepreneurs working on agricultural social innovations to push their prototypes to the market. The unique approach of the challenge allows entrepreneurs to reflect on their prototypes, unique selling points and business models. The goal is to foster the growth of companies creating value for the agriculture business in Nigeria, by providing access to impact fund, expert support and access to the market. Key areas of acceleration will involve product validation, market validation and market penetration.
This is to test the assumptions of the concepts by clarifying the product or service meets the market need and the best go to market strategy.
It is imperative to identify and perform an assessment of the target audience to ensure the product or service meets the expectation. The goal is to attract the right customers at the right time. Entrepreneurs are able to articulate their unique selling point to position the business in the marketplace.
The entrepreneurs will receive the unique opportunity to refine their business models, establish the appropriate processes and fine tune their marketing strategy.
